Showcasing the Richness of Caribbean Heritage Through Dance
Alison Moolenaar Foy is originally from St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands and considers Caribbean dancing and Mocko Jumbie stilt dancing her passion.
Mocko Jumbie stilt dancing is somewhat of a family tradition, as she and other family members were trained as young children by her late uncle Hugo Moolenaar, Sr. on the island of St. Thomas.
Alison is a former Miss St. Thomas Carnival Queen and Jaycees Caribbean Queen and has traveled internationally sharing her talent. Alison discovered the lack of authentic Caribbean entertainment in Atlanta and surrounding markets and knew that she had a solution. She founded Caribbean Dancers of Atlanta and looks forward to adding an exciting display of African culture with Caribbean flair to your next event.
